least 40 Al-Qaeda militants killed in Abyan Al-Baidha

- About 20 Al-Qaeda militants affiliated with al-Qaedawere killed on Saturday
as the Yemeni army launched strikes on their shelters in Jaar and Zinjibar of
Abyan.
Similar
attacks that were carried out on Friday night killed about 20 Al-Qaeda militants in
Al-Baidha governorate, ome 130 kilometres south of the capital Sana'a.
Correspondent
of Alsahwah.net affirmed that the bodies were found charred and scattered,
pointing out the bodies were not identified.
Al-Qaeda
radicals, believed to have a strong foothold in the area, have increased their
action since President Abd Rabu Mansour Hadi took office last month.
They
have taken advantage of a year-long of political turmoil and the weak central
government to expand their influence in the impoverished Arabian
Peninsula country.
