Sahwa Net- Assistant of the Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh has strongly criticized statements of US Assistant Secretary for Near Eastern Affairs Jeffrey Feltman as he demanded an immediate and peaceful transition of power during his trip to Yemen on June 22.
In an interview with a Kuwaiti newspaper, Alsyasah, Ahemed Al-Sufi, presidential news secretary of Saleh , said Feltman's statements were against the Yemenik Constitution and incompatible with previous statements for Secretary of State Department Hillary Clinton about the power transition in Yemen.
He considered the statements as incitements to coup against the Yemeni regime.
"The United States is confused. It sometimes desires that the Arab Spring leads to transfer to democracy, however, it works against democracy in Yemen".
" Feltman deals with Yemen as an American state and is not a sovereign state" added al-Sufi.
Al-Sofi had accused the United States of shooting the strike on the mosque in the presidential palace compound where Saleh and the other officials were at prayer.
